Bud Light: Executives take leave amid boycott
Two Anheuser-Busch executives were put on leave this week after a Bud
Light promotion featuring transgender advocate Dylan Mulvaney caused
an uproar, said Jennifer Maloney and Lauren Weber in The Wall Street
Journal. Bud Light’s marketing chief, Alissa Heinerscheid, as well as her
boss, Daniel Blake, were both placed on leave. Right-wing celebrities
called for a boycott of the brand, and U.S. sales last week fell 17 percent
from the same week last year. Inside the company, some employees were
dismayed that Anheuser-Busch “stayed silent as Heinerscheid was per

sonally attacked in social media and conservative news outlets.”
